My skincare ritual is following the 10-step Korean skincare routine, it is absolutely necessary part of my self-care and self -love ritual. A clean skincare routine transformed my skin and made make-up largely unnecessary. I used to be a full coverage foundation, and now I wear next to nothing at all mostly sticking to my SPF CC cream. My skincare routine does more then give me glowing skin. It has given me confidence, open up numerous possibilities and most importantly taught to honor and love myself and this body. It is a way to show myself how appreciative I am to be created, birthed, loved, lost, endured and flourished. It is my way of showing myself, I am worthy and grateful.
My Journey When I started hearing about the “10 Step Korean Skincare” routine, it was another way for me to try and improve my skin. From constant breakouts, skin discoloration, enlarge pores, wrinkles developing here and there, my skin was one minute oily and the next minute. I heard and read so many articles and videos on solutions and nothing seem to work. After being in the military for 7 years, traveling constantly and being in the sun without sun block, my skin ever seemed to go back to normal. Am I hoping for too much? It was so bad, I decided to see a dermatologist and they recommended prescription skincare. But I feared like antidepressants once on it, it would be hard to not be reliant on it. So, I decided I wanted to see if I could find a clean skincare routine to solve my problem without medical intervention first. That’s when I uncovered the 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine, and I think the results speak for themselves! Not only did it transform my skin from blotchy to glowing and even, it’s something I really enjoy doing. Starting and ending the day with a self-care ritual. What is the 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine? The 10-Steps mainly consist of 3 parts, cleanse, nourish and last but not least protect. You are not required to do every single steps each day and the first few step only take about 10 minutes maximum, so its manageable. Step 1: Oil Cleanser-This helps to remove oil-based products like make-up and sunscreen from the skin. This also doesn’t dry out my face. Step 2: Foam/Water-Based Cleanser- This helps to removes sweat and dirt. Step 3: Exfoliant- This helps clean clogged pores and remove dead skin. This should not be done each day. I usually exfoliate every 2-3 times each week and only at night. Step 4: Toner- This help preps the skin. I tend to tone twice, and that is a personal preference. I would put toner on a cotton pad and sweep it all over my face. This is another way to remove any leftover impurities off my skin. After I would take a spray bottle, usually a rose scented toner and spray my face. And let it air dry. Step 5: Essence- This is to help nourish the skin. Essence helps with hydrating skin and promote cell turn over. This I would put some on my hand and pat it gently on my face. A lot of people use cotton pads but the brand I use is quite expensive and every little bit count. Step 6: Serums/Ampoules- This helps focuses on my main skin concerns. Usually I would use one that helps with near the chin area and another serum that help reduce the appearance of pores on my cheeks. Step 7: Sheet Masks- I LIVE FOR THIS STEP, so relaxing. The cold mask turns and cools your skin. I would usually pick something to watch and put on a sheet mask, before I know it 20minutes has passed. Of course, I would be using my all natural Milk Sheet Mask that helps tackles all kinds of skin concerns. There are more uses for milk then building healthy, strong bones or sipping on a glass of milk with some chocolate chip cookies. All jokes aside milk contains lactic acid which is known and proven to be a natural exfoliant and skin softening that doesn’t cause irritation and dryness. Step 8: Eye Cream-Can’t have under eye bags and crow’s feet. This help firm and brighten the skin around my eyes. Step 9: Moisturizer- This is to help my skin stay hydrated. Step 10: Jade Roller during night routine: This is my way of giving my face a workout. This helps with blood circulation, lymphatic drainage but last but not least helps with product absorption. Step 10: Sunscreen during day routine: This is a VITAL STEP this helps prevent aging caused by damaging UV rays. I know this all sounds like a lot, but you don’t have to use all ten steps daily. A lot of these products varies in price ranges because there are a lot of option. Therefore, it is important to find a product that is not only affordable and natural, but it must fit your skincare needs. The GotMilki sheet mask is only $1.50 a sheet or $10 for a pack of 8. Sometimes I would fall asleep with it on, use it in the middle of the day, while I am soaking in a bathtub sipping on some wine. Hope this little bit of info regarding my day and night routine CHEERS to RADIANT SKIN <3
